THE discovery of a man's body on a Teesside path is not being treated as suspicious, say police.

The grim find was made just before 8am yesterday on the path which runs off Sedgemoor Road in Normanby, Middlesbrough.

The dead man has been identified, but police are not releasing details until all family members have been notified.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to open land in the Normanby area just after 8am after receiving reports of the sighting of the body of a man.

"He has now been identified. We are not treating the death as suspicious."
