Teesside University International Business School has welcomed 20 North East businesses who registered for the latest cohort of the 90% government-funded programme, Help to Grow Management.
The programme is designed by the government and delivered by business schools. Facilitator Simon Merchant of Interdigitate and industry expert from The Department for Business and Trade, Tania Culley worked with participants to understand their value proposition and future potential for business growth.
The session covering Internationalisation and winning new markets exposes participants to case studies on existing global businesses and how they have achieved success focusing on seven business drivers:
- Customers
- Operations
- Risk
- People
- Partnership
- Technology
- Finance and future
Simon worked with the delegates throughout the session to understand fundamental business concepts such as product life cycle, market segmentation and how to increase sales of products or services.
Tania discussed the free support available for SMEs from The Department for Business and Trade and the benefits of getting connected.
Scott Wilson-Laing Chief Executive Office Northumberland Community Bank said later: "I've really enjoyed the first module, especially the interactive session with Simon from Interdigitate.
"There is lots to take away from the sessions and I'm very excited to start implementing them within the business to help us grow."
